How does car subscription service work?

Very simple! You pick the car and drive it for a fixed weekly Subscription fee on either a 3, 6 or 12 month plan. There’s no long-term contract. It’s just like subscribing to other services like Spark Sport or Spotify.

What are the benefits of car subscription?

There are many advantages compared to buying a car. You don’t need to save for a car, get finance and you can get into a car more quickly. Buying a car can be a big decision take a lot of time researching, inspecting and negotiating to get the right one.

With subscription, you drive all-inclusive which means you don’t need to organise or worry about having to pay individually for insurance, roadside, registration and servicing, which can add up, especially if the car is older.

Buying a car is a long term purchase and often selling the car can be painful and you can lose a lot on the trade-in. With a Simplify subscription everything is included and with simple monthly fee, with no surprises.

What does the weekly price include?

The weekly price includes insurance, roadside assist, registration and routine maintenance. That’s pretty much everything, apart from fuel and road user charges of course!

Is there an upfront fee?

There is a non refundable upfront fee to subscribe to Simplify. This helps us provide you the flexibility and value of weekly subscription and change car when it suits you.

What is the minimum term?

To ensure we offer you a great value subscription fee, we’ve made the minimum term 3 months. You can change or adjust your term after 3 months and swap cars to suit your changing lifestyle.

What documents are required to get a car subscription?

Here’s the checklist of the documents required for the application:

  1. 100 points of Identification Documents (Driver’s Licence is a MUST)
  2. Latest utility bill or lease agreement with your most current address and your name on it.
  3. 3 months worth of bank statement.
  4. Be over 21 years of age and have a clean driving history
  5. A good credit score

What cars are available?

Many different types of cars are available to suit a range of needs including economy cars, sports cars, SUV’s, commercial and luxury vehicles. Some popular brands available include Kia, Holden, Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Mitsubishi and Hyundai and several other leading brands, we’re adding new cars all the time.

How many kms are included?

Every car includes a maximum number of kilometres (kms) which should be more than enough each week. If you go over it’s no worries as you will be charged a low fee of $0.15 for each additional kilometre.

Can I subscribe to a car if I have an international driver’s licence?

Of course, you can! As long as you have a a full overseas driving licence that is suitable for the class of Vehicleand complies with the terms of theNew Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).

How do I get the car?

You can collect the car on your pick-up-date from your pick-up location or as otherwise agreed with Simplify.

Is roadside included?

If the car breaks down or requires repair, you’re covered as you have the benefit of 24-hour roadside assistance which is included with every subscription, simply call 0800 800 786 and we’ll be right there.

What happens if the car is in an accident?

In the event of an accident or the car is damaged during your subscription, the excess is $1,000 and applies for each separate accident, incident or new damage.

Can I swap the car?

Yes, it’s all about being flexible and changing to suit your lifestyle. If you’re at the end of your Term, you can swap to any other available car.

Who is authorised to drive the car?

Only the people listed In the Subscription Agreement as authorised drivers may drive the car, must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s licence.

How do I cancel my car subscription?

On the Pick-up Date or at any time during the Subscription Term, you can cancel and all you’ll pay is a cancellation fee equal to 1 month’s Subscription Fee.
